Kim Kardashian Is in Big Trouble with the Law And You’ll Never Guess Why

As some Kardashian fans say, the devil works hard but Kris Jenner works harder. However, Kim K might be facing a problem that even her own momager can’t solve.

With a reported $530 million net worth, it’s safe to say that Kim Kardashian definitely knows how to manage her money. Unfortunately, this recent controversy she’s been involved with might just cut a good one-fifth of her massive fortune.

Emoji App Lawsuit

Kardashian is in the middle of a high stakes lawsuit after her former app developer, David Liebensohn, sued the reality television star for backing out of a contract they signed for an emoji app.

Liebensohn and his partners were first noticed by Kardashian and her team due to CensorOut, a mobile app that the group produced. Eventually, they were tapped to develop a personal app for Kardashian called Kimoji.

As its name implies, the app is entirely dedicated to giving users emojis, all based on images of Kardashian herself, to use on social media and text messaging. The idea proved to be a great hit, reportedly garnering 9,000 downloads per second during its initial launch. According to sources, the volume of users on the App Store even led to the crashing of the store server.

Their partnership seemed to be going smoothly until a misunderstanding about the registration for the Kimoji designs’ trademark turned the relationship sour.

Apparently, both parties agreed that Kardashian would be the one working on getting the trademark for the app but Liebensohn claims that she never did so. Everything went further south when Kardashian suddenly pulled out of the deal citing some violations against her privacy as the primary reason.

A $100 Million Lawsuit

Now, the developer is standing his ground, despite alleged threats from Kardashian’s legal team, and is suing her for $100 million.

The app was originally sold at the App Store for $1.99 a pop. According to reports, the Kimoji app was steadily raking in an average of $100,000 a day at the height of its popularity some years ago.

What Kim Has To Say

Kardashian is defended by famous Hollywood lawyer, Marty Singer.

Kardashian voiced out her side about the allegations through her legal counsel Marty Singer.

Singer relayed to media outlets that the lawsuit filed against his client is ‘ridiculous and absurd’. He also revealed that a settlement between the two parties has already been made years ago with Kardashian giving up on a multi-million dollar claim against Liebensohn and his associates.

What more, Singer commented on how the developer waited four years before coming out to say that the agreement wasn’t binding for him. This led to Kardashian starting an arbitration late in 2018 which Liebensohn failed to stop. Thus, he continued on to file what Singer said is a meritless lawsuit this year.

In the end, both Singer and Kardashian are confident that the $100 million case will be dismissed. For now, all fans can do is stay tuned and see how this controversy plays out.
