The long-serving Bureau officer was recently sacked and president Trump expressed happiness over the action, calling it “a wonderful democratic day,” at the same time, he attacked FBI on the ongoing crisis. Meanwhile, his lawyer had commented on the Bureau’s loss of a job as a hope that will bring the investigation regarding a rumored conspiracy going on between Russia and Trump’s campaign to an end.
However, the process that saw the sack of the deputy director of FBI (with James Comey as his former boss), Andrew McCabe, did not sit well with political observers and critics. They saw it as an action that has a risky undertone, a strategy to bring to disrepute some high-ranking security agents in the country. Accusing fingers have also been pointed at the special legal adviser, Robert Mueller, probing the effects that Russia had during the elections in 2016.
Trump spat fire on Twitter last Saturday when he verbally attacked the charges, displeased with the enormous leakages, extortion, and deception at the peak within the Justice and State and FBI.
Trump added empathically that the condemnation into Mueller’s probe is long overdue. He referred to it a persecution which shouldn’t have began at all because no complicity nor crime ever existed.
The opportunity for McCabe
Prior to this time, John Dowd, the personal lawyer to Trump, had explained that hopefully, the vice attorney General, Rod Rosenstein, would track the hint down which Office of Professional Responsibility at FBI already has. This may stop the charges of Russian Conspiracy probe created by James Comey, McCabe’s leader, who did it because of a record detailing corruption and scam.
In his own words, Dowd said he’s talking in defense of Trump, contrary to what he once said that he only talks in his own defense and not for President Trump.
McCabe had tolerated the acidic criticisms from the president for one year before he was finally stripped off his uniform on Friday evening, an action taken by Justice Department, which barely marked 48 hours to his final retirement after he’d served the FBI for more than 2 decades.
This untimely dismissal of McCabe is part of Trump’s grand scheme to facilitate the sack of Mueller, which is already showing signs of the constitutional saga in the long-run, critics suggested.
The special legal adviser in the Russian investigation, Mueller, is carefully watching the scenes as they play out before him, wondering if Trump probably has blocked reasonableness, which includes the forceful dismissal of Comey last year May.
On Saturday, however, a Democratic legislator from Wisconsin, Mark Pocan, declared that there is a job opportunity for McCabe directly from his office in order to give the adviser a chance to finish his serving period so that he can satisfy all his retirement requirements and get his full privileges as a federal officer. Pocan described his assistance as legal and McCabe can work as electioneering security agent.
Meanwhile, the McCabe office is looking at exploring every alternative, according to his mouthpiece, Melissa Schwartz. For now, he remains neutral.
FBI under attack
Few minutes after McCabe was officially fired, Trump tweeted and called that day a good day when every diligent worker in the FBI can be happy. He also called it a wonderful democratic day.
In a defensive statement to clear his name, McCabe debunked any allegations of corruption leveled against him, saying that he’s only a prey who got entangled in the web of battles designed by Trump’s government to bring down the FBI and the legal department.
The press stated on Saturday that he already stored files and records of every conversation he had with the president, and these records could boost the authenticity of his own side of the story.
Adding to the fuelled war on Trump, Comey also clamped back at the US ruler via his Twitter account, promising to release his own details to the citizens of America in no distant time, and then they will know who has a reputation and who lacks it between him and Trump.
According to the Justice Department, a secret inward investigation was carried out on McCabe and it was discovered that he uttered prohibited declaration to press men, which shows that he’d pull back some hidden truths in several instances when he was interrogated by the inspector general.
Jeff Sessions, the Attorney General, said that it’s required from all staff members under the command of the FBI to always obey the optimum level of integrity, moral standards and truthfulness. However, when these attributes are missing under the FBI creed, then the offender found wanton will be fired from FBI, Jeff added. So McCabe’s supporters are baffled because obviously, this case involving Comey and McCabe is politically-motivated, so where is the integrity there?
Among his supporters is John Brennon, who was once a chief in CIA. He venomously expressed his belief directly to Trump on Twitter that the US leader will soon be disgraced when his cup of dirty secrets is full.
Information regarding the investigation by the inspector general was not publicly released but it revealed how the FBI managed the elections of 2016 probe into Hillary Clinton.
There have been consistent accusations by Trump to Comey and McCabe, saying that they are shielding Hillary from facing the law over illegal activities like the abuse of a secret email router she used when she served as the state secretary.
Meanwhile, the distress caused by the conspiracy investigation is increasing at the White House, and the House is now concentrating more than before on internal caucus of Trump.
