Ami Ciccone Oct 25, 2021

Real estate is one side-hustle that has gained impeccable interest over the last decade. People have started buying, leasing, renting out, and selling properties to make quite a bit of income in addition to their regular jobs. In such a setting, it’s quite natural for more and more people to become attracted towards investing in properties.

If you too are planning on investing in this field, the best thing you can do, prior to marketing your listings, is getting hold of great images. Ensuring you have great imagery will not only uplift your real estate listings but will also help you grow and flourish as a real estate investor in the longer run.

Now, we know it can be a total headache for owners or agents to get that perfect click, as they’re already overwhelmed with other formalities that happen when selling a house. But there’s no reason to worry. In this post, we’ll share some effective yet simple tips that’ll help you generate some great photographs for your properties.

#1 – Understand the gist behind the image

All houses are built differently, with different aesthetics, arrangements, and much more. But what a buyer really wants to see is the house’s look from every angle possible. This is why making sure to have a list of pictures is a good idea. For instance, wide-angle shots of the bedroom, pictures of lawn & the backyard, curb appeal shots, one of each bathroom, etc.

#2 – Declutter is the key

Once you’re ready with a list of ideas, it’s time to get the shots taken! But before that, one important tip that you can’t miss is to declutter the surroundings. Let’s be honest, no one likes the look of a messy house.

It’s not just a turn-off but also portrays a bad impression. Removing the unwanted furniture and organizing and simplifying the surroundings will help the potential buyers to have a better understanding of how the space can be utilized effectively.

#3 – Keep learning and trying new things

Professional photographers use various techniques and numerous equipment to click the best images possible. Commonly, they have a tripod and a wide-angle lens, and they’ll probably prefer shooting from different angles if possible. This allows them to capture a more realistic and artistic feel while leaving a hint of their aesthetic behind. You should try this method too!

#4 – Stage the setting to get that perfect picture

By staging some parts of your home, you can easily grab the attention of potential buyers and score typically 1% to 5% higher offers from them. For instance, a perfectly arranged fruit basket in the kitchen or a perfectly set outdoor table for the barbeque can do wonders to achieve that perfect shot.

Feedback is a must!

Whenever you’re learning and trying out new things, be open to receiving advice and creative criticism from others. We know it can be difficult to outlay your work in front of a professional and ask for their honest opinions, but trust us, it’s worth it, and it will only help you perform better in the future.
