U.S. vs China On Security Risks
According to a statement released by some members of the United States Senate during the hearing last week, China could be using Huawei techs to gain access into some of the biggest and the most sensitive information the U.S. has, including some intellectual properties and advanced technological concepts with the use of telecommunication companies like Huawei.
The head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Senator Richard Burr of the Republicans, stated that it is indeed bothering them about how China could get access and spread some of the most valuable information the U.S. has.
He even referred to it as the “counterintelligence and information security risks that come prepackaged with goods and services of certain overseas vendors.” Burr specifically pointed at the Chinese telecommunications company Huawei as well as the ZTE Corporation, because they are considered to have been really close to the Chinese government.
This is not the very first time that the U.S. has thought of Chinese business spying on them. Burr also mentioned how the foreign commercial investment of the U.S. might actually affect all the sensitive information throughout the academic research facilities as well as some laboratories that the government works so hard for to protect against any risks of being exposed to Chinese spies.

Which is why the spokesperson of the Huawei immediately pointed out and said that they are indeed aware of how the U.S. government is very skeptical when it comes to Chinese businesses around their country. He assured that their company is well trusted by governments from more than 170 countries all over the world and they are not a threat to the cybersecurity of any country.
The FBI has no choice but to interfere since this is such a serious matter. In fact, according to some spy agency chiefs, through advanced technology, everything could be stolen and copied.
This is what they said at the worldwide threats hearing, which is held every single year. The Federal Bureau Investigation Director, Christopher Wray, explained how the Chinese have actually become “more and more” creative when it comes to this issue, which is why the US is trying their best not to get outsmarted by the Chinese when it comes to these extremely important matters. He also mentioned how the United States should simply come up with a more strategic way of how to be able to get more protection from these threats.

Huawei’s Defense
According to one of Huawei’s executives, it is “groundless and unfair” to refer to their products as something that can be considered as a threat to their security. It has got too far as the U.S. has sent a warning to Australia regarding their 5G mobile phone networks.
However, the Australian government reported that they are always requiring a full security assessment for every product and services. The chief executive of Huawei, Ken Hu Houkun said in an interview that they always make sure the security tops the priority among anything else.
He even stated how it is very unfair for their company to be treated like this especially with how they have had such a great record for the past 30 years of service in the tech industry. He said that the accusation is purely based on suspicion which makes it even worse, they cannot even show any proof or whatsoever.
This all started with the plan of Huawei investing billions of dollars for research and development of their 5G that will involve some of the major cities in the world such as Vancouver, London, Tokyo, and some cities in the U.S.
Partnerships between Huawei and some US carriers like AT&T have been called off because of this issue on security. The government was said to be pressuring the carriers to cut off their connections with the said tech brand.
