Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s former West Village townhouse recently got bumped off for $15.85 million. It’s a modern abode located in a peaceful block. The elegant, well-kept 7,000-square-foot house stands six stories tall. It has a contemporary allure to it but it preserves its authenticity. The property was originally built in 1864.

Stepping inside, the house’s foyer is at the parlor level. The front door gapes at the decorous dining room that’s equipped with a graceful fireplace. The unique doors welcome towards the living room and lounge along with providing access to the garden-level serene terrace. The kitchen consists of a decent dining spot with such wide glass windows that the garden can be looked-at from inside. The house has six comfortable bedrooms that are spread across the top three floors. What’s more engaging is the twin closet with the casual fitting rooms and a private dressing room as well.
As we move upwards, the top floor offers an open lofted area with a beautiful windowpane that makes it suitable as an indoor gym and a lounge. The basement seems bottomless, as it’s extremely spacious. It’s more than enough for a storage room and the laundry room too!
The most intriguing part about the deal is that it includes blueprints drawn by Steve Harris, AD 100 architect. The plans indicate towards the creation of a duplex with an airy terrace. The blueprint also hints at transforming the basement into something more fitting like a mocktail lounge, a pool, or a home theatre perhaps.
In 2017, Sarah and Matthew announced that they’re planning on combining their two townhouses in the same neighborhood. The said mansion, after all the alteration, could measure about 13,900 square feet.
