It’s a small world, indeed! And the recent house exchange between Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Tyler Ferguson proves this.
Dirt reports that lately, DiCaprio’s house-hunting came to an end with Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita’s Los Feliz home. The Titanic star paid $7.1 million for the 5,000 sq. ft. property, which had a quite fascinating history.
As per records, the property has been home to many famous people like Gwen Stefani, Robert Pattinson, producer Mark Brazill, and Lärabar owner Lara Merriken. Ferguson purchased the house in 2013 from Merriken for a price of $4.6 million (a lot less than DiCaprio, but what can we say, lucky him!).
He stayed there for seven years before listing it in 2021. The Modern Family star contacted Jennifer Akbari of Compass for the listing, while Brett Lawyer of Hilton & Hyland represented DiCaprio.
Let’s jump into why DiCaprio couldn’t say no to this property.
A peek inside the exotic beauty
The mansion, which dates back to 1928, consists of four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It begins with large gates, a long driveway, and a couple of customized stairs. Past them, it has a giant handcrafted door decorated with a lovely Bougainvillea plant.
The Spanish Colonial-style house has a round-shaped entryway, which features stone block walls, original terracotta tile floors, and a stenciled ceiling. It has enough space for a living room, a formal dining room, a cozy office, a two-story library, a family room, and a chef’s kitchen.
The compact yet functional office with wood-paneled walls sits next to the living room, a stone fireplace. One of the most interesting places in the house is the library, which has teal-colored walls complemented with unique furniture sets. Further, the chef’s kitchen strives for a lighter look. It has white walls, Wolf and SubZero stainless appliances, and blue cabinets.
Next is the family room, which showcases the true power of technology. It converts into a media room at the push of a button and offers a movie screen emerging out of the ceiling, electronic blackout curtains, and a projector. Lastly, upstairs there’s a master bedroom with an attached vintage-style bathroom. Tired? Well, there’s more!
The outdoor area has a beautiful swimming pool and a tiled dining terrace overlooking the Griffith Observatory.
Other property DiCaprio has been involved with
Over the past years, DiCaprio has purchased and sold many properties. Currently, he owns a 4,644 sq. ft. house in Loz Feliz, which he brought in 2018 for $4.9 million. He also has a property on Malibu’s Paradise Cove, which he bought in 2017 for $23 million. The Wolf of Wall Street star even has an island located off the Belize coast.
According to reports, he purchased it for $1.75 million more than a decade ago. Well, if someone’s going to buy an entire island, it can only be a star of the stature of Leonardo DiCaprio!
