Here’s some great news for British moms. Perfocal, a photography company, is offering free photoshoots to babies who are born on the same day as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s child. The perks don’t stop there though.
Royal Photoshoot
Now that baby Sussex has arrived, moms with babies born on May 7th better get their newborn’s birth certificate ready.
Since not all parents have the luxury of having a ‘royal photoshoot’ for their baby, Perfocal is gifting them a free shoot that will take inspiration from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ planned Windsor Castle photoshoot.
The Windsor Castle grounds is also the location of the family’s current home Frogmore Cottage. The castle also serves as one of the Queen’s principal seats.
According to figures from the Office for National Statistics, a total of 679,106 live births were recorded in England and Wales in 2017.
Doing simple math and inferring there wasn’t much of an increase or decrease in birth rates, around 1,860 babies are born each day. Here’s to hoping that Perfocal doesn’t go under accommodating the possibility of thousands of parents requesting a free photoshoot.
More Gifts
If that first offer isn’t a sweet enough deal for some, the company is offering more. Babies who are born within the same hour as baby Sussex are entitled to free birthday photoshoots from Perfocal until they reach the age of 18. Markle reportedly gave birth at around 5 a.m. on Monday.
To get these perks, parents are instructed to upload a copy or photo of their newborn’s birth certificate online within a month. Then, they can book their free shoots with a local photographer associated with the company. The service will only be available for residents in the UK.
The company’s founder Tony Xu says that newborn photography has been seeing a rise in popularity in the past years. And seeing how everybody’s focus will be on the royal baby, Xu offered commoner parents the opportunity to make them ‘feel like royalty’ as well and celebrate the new addition to their families.
Secret Birth Arrangements
Unlike other royal parents-to-be, Prince Harry and Markle kept the details of their son’s birth very private. This secrecy has even led the press to believe that the Duchess might be planning to give birth at home.
In the end, the 37-year-old Markle and her husband had to make a last minute dash to London’s Portland Hospital, according to reports from The Sun.
The decision is definitely a not-so-traditional one as both Kate Middleton and the late Princess Diana delivered all their babies at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital.
However, the couple will still follow some royal birth traditions like giving their son three to four first names subject to final approval from the Queen.
